Plant trees that water themselves.

The Groasis Waterboxx® collects rain and condensation and feeds it to the roots, so new trees can establish in Texas heat with no hose, no drip lines and no electricity.

How it works

  1. Plant: Set your sapling in the ground, put the Waterboxx over it, and fill it once with about 5 gallons of water.
  2. Collect: The lid catches rain and nighttime condensation, refills the reservoir, and shades the soil from evaporation.
  3. Grow deep: A wick releases a small daily dose of water, which trains the roots to grow down. After 9–12 months, take the box off and reuse it.

Why Waterboxx

  • No hoses, drip lines, pumps or water trucks
  • Built for rocky, eroded and drought-prone ground like the Hill Country
  • Encourages deep roots so trees survive on their own
  • Durable polypropylene that works for about 10 plantings
  • Pairs with the GrowSafe Telescoprotexx guard against deer, rabbits and sun
  • Studied for 5 years by the University of Valladolid with 24,000 Waterboxxes (per Groasis)

Proven here at home

The Waterboxx has been used in the Texas Hill Country at the Jacob's Well Natural Area near Austin, where it helped restore riparian areas by letting native saplings establish through the region's heat and drought.

FAQ

How much water does it need?

About 5 gallons (roughly 18 L) at planting. After that it refills from rain and condensation. In a long drought you can top it up.

When should I plant in Central Texas?

Fall through winter is best. Roots can grow deep before the summer heat.

How long does the box stay on?

About 9–12 months. Then lift it off and use it for another tree. Each box is good for about 10 plantings.

Do I need a GrowSafe?

It's recommended wherever deer, rabbits or livestock browse. It also shades and protects the young tree and extends as the tree grows.

When will my order ship?

All orders ship the Friday after you place them. Austin customers can choose local delivery at checkout, or arrange Friday pickup in Cedar Park (8–10 AM) through our Request a Quote form.

Do you offer bulk pricing?
